Create the Alien Game prototype within 7 days.

My family and I have been playing a game called Burglin' Gnomes. We enjoyed the game but we didn't like the aesthetics and the overall feel so we decided that we could try and make our own game but with Aliens instead of Gnomes and change the objective of the unpolished reference game. So with the magic of AI, tools like Blender and some other generative software we will create a prototype that we can play within 7 days (or as quick as possible) to see if this project is worth more of our time and effort! ## In short the current plan looks the following: - List the main gameplay from the reference game - Start a project in Unity (or any other Game Engine that is reliable) - Create the gameplay only, no graphics or models. Only Blocks or primitive shapes. (describe the gameplay detailed to AI so it can write the scripts) Rely on AI and other generative software for quick results. It's a prototype not a finished product. - Imagine the graphics and models. What should the game feel like? Understand what feeling and aesthetic we are looking for. - Create Art for inspiration or find art for inspiration and future guidance. - Create primitive or simplified graphics and models. - Implement Multiplayer for testing. The final result of these 7 days should be a game we can play either together or Singleplayer. As long as it is enough for us to evaluate the time and effort needed to polish and finish the game.

Welp, gotta start somewhere. I am going to use the ikea alien as an inspiration. My most important goal here is to create a decent topology that will work well with the skeleton/rigging in the future. I will also try to remind myself that It’s better to fail a lot than to sit and stare at the cube in Blender with fear. I love watching 3D professionals sharing their blender tutorials on YouTube, however you can easily get into the habit of comparing yourself with them. -So, I will try to just make it fun for myself and share my chaotic experience here 🙌

Low-poly retro-future survival

Это вроде как игра про выживание на маленьких процедурных планетах в ретрофутуристическом low-poly космосе. Игрок высаживается на чужой пыльной планете с ограниченным запасом ресурсов, старым посадочным модулем и базовым буром. Ощущение холодного космоса, странные луны, астероиды, ржавые антенны, обломки старых экспедиций и суровая красота будущего, которое выглядит одновременно героически и потрёпанно. ) Главная механика - полностью разрушаемый воксельный мир. Планету можно бурить, вскрывать слоями, искать руду, лёд, кристаллы, пещеры и древние технические структуры. Поверхность и недра генерируются процедурно: разные биомы, разные геологические слои, разные опасности. Игрок постепенно превращает мёртвый камень в источник жизни: добывает материалы, перерабатывает руду, печатает детали, строит оборудование и открывает доступ к более глубоким слоям. Вторая основа игры - строительство базы, особенно подземной. На поверхности опасны радиация, холод, метеоритные дожди или пыльные бури, поэтому игрок выкапывает убежище, укрепляет тоннели, ставит шлюзы, генераторы, лампы, верстаки, контейнеры, кислородные модули и производственные станции. База не просто декорация, а живой инженерный организм: ей нужны энергия, воздух, тепло, хранение ресурсов и ремонт. В идеале игра ощущается как смесь Space Engineers, Stationeers, 7 Days to Die и Astroneer, но со своим лицом: не кубический Minecraft, а суровый low-poly retro-future survival. Её эмоциональная формула простая: ты прилетел на мёртвую планету, выкопал первое убежище, зажёг в нём свет - и начал превращать чужой космический камень в дом Визуально это рядом с Astroneer, но темнее и жестче: - terrain как у Astroneer: мягкие формы, крупные треугольные фасеты, цветные планетарные материалы; - настроение более "инженерная база / промышленная экспедиция / опасная шахта"; - не мультяшная игрушечность, а стилизованный sci-fi survival; - смесь Astroneer + Deep Rock Galactic + Subnautica base modules + 7DtD mining/building.

My first unassisted clean pull-up!

Can’t believe that just a while ago I was mainly focusing on getting my first pushup. Now here I am, finally moving on to a new challenge, which is… ## my first unassisted and clean pull up. Unfortunately, I started writing this much later and have been training for a while already, so I couldn’t share a more detailed process of my journey here. At the moment, I still struggle to get my chin up all the way above my hands. But I can definitely report that I noticed a stronger mind-body connection in the movement itself. Doing the negatives has become much easier and I can keep myself hanging with my arms in an “L- form” (anyone know what it’s properly called? xD) much longer compared to when I first started. But besides that, I am surprised how manageable it turned out to be to learn those skills. I still remember that day when I unexpectedly managed to do my first push up. (And not the wide-stance ones, here I was specifically targeting to achieve the narrow-stance!) I’ve never been great at keeping track of my habits or planning workouts, and even less so at following them. I tried working out alongside the workout-apps, but from my experience, they have been a great introduction to what kind of movements you can do and how long it is advised to hold them, but I wouldn’t say that they were great at building the habit itself for the long run. Compared to how the apps made me feel, I would say my approach now is pretty “lazy.” Yet, now when I think about it, -it makes sense that a whole book about “atomic habits” was written. And honestly, I believe this book is the key reason that I am able to push myself forward to this day and will be able to continue those habits for more years to come. Don’t give up guys!
